Professor Stephen Kaye

Professor Stephen Kaye is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences, University of Liverpool, where he leads the research into eye infections. Professor Kaye is also a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where he leads the Cornea and Ocular Surface Disease Service. He also holds the posts of Vice President of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Director of The Liverpool Research Eye Biobank, NHS England National lead for Corneal Transplantation and Honorary Professorship at Queens University, Belfast.
In 2018 he was awarded the National Institute of Health Research and The Royal College of Ophthalmologists Researcher of the Year (2018), followed by the British Ocular Surface Society and MCLOSA: Kersley Medal Lecture in 2019.
