Have you ever wanted to gain an insight into how a medical journal is run? Would you like to get involved in creating engaging educational material or learn how to get published?
Are you a motivated medical student interested in publishing and full of ideas? The Clegg scholarship is a great opportunity to understand how a medical journal is run, get involved in creating engaging educational material, and learn how to get published.
As a Clegg scholar, you will spend two days a week with us over an eight week period researching, writing, and reviewing features and educational content to gain an insight into how publications such as The BMJ and BMJ Student are put together.
This is an excellent opportunity for a summer holiday project, but we also welcome applicants who want to undertake this scholarship as part of their medical elective.
Applications usually open in December, and you can follow us on Twitter for updates.
“The Clegg scholarship experience was invaluable in developing my writing and critical analysis skills. I worked closely with editors to publish several articles in BMJ Student. I would recommend the Clegg scholarship to any student with a keen interest in medical journalism. ”
