Totally agree Jacqui it's highly therapeutic you can see why baptism in water is a rebirth custom. Being a small island nation it's great more people are doing this or other meditative in the moment activities for mental and physical health (climbing, trail runnings, activities we do when younger but incorrectly 'grow out of' as we get older but are great for maintaining our muscle strength and joy of living) . Better than the gym. As an ex southender who goes back there often as well! swimming is great for upper and lower body and muscle tone and aerobic activity. Should be on green prescription if affordable.(the sea is free!). Have you done the looney dook though?!
