EDITOR, - Tony Waterston and Anthony Zwimake some valid comments regarding apartheid's effect on health care in South Africa but deal superficially with several important points.1 The crucial difference between the National Medical and Dental Association's advocacy of so called selective support (more accurately interpreted as “selective boycott” as there is an element of coercion) and true selective support as advocated by me2 seems to have escaped them.
