Smoking bans are linked to reduction in preterm births and childhood asthma, says study

Rates of preterm births and paediatric hospital admissions for asthma fell by 10% within a year of smoke-free legislation taking effect, says a systematic review and meta-analysis on the issue.1
The research, published in the Lancet, included 11 eligible studies published from 2008 to 2013, which involved more than 2.5 million births and nearly 250 000 asthma exacerbations. …
