Age discrimination in UK healthcare will become unlawful in October

A ban on discriminating against people on the grounds of their age when providing healthcare or social care will come into force in the United Kingdom in October.

The Conservative led coalition government has decided to bring into force the ban on age discrimination in services and the exercise of public functions, enacted in the previous Labour government’s Equality Act 2010 but not yet implemented.
