Head To Head

Should UK membership exams be held overseas? No

Rapid Response:

Royal Colleges - examinations at home and abroad

Dare I (yet again) utter a heresy?

Not only should the Royal Colleges not hold examinations abroad.
There should be, simply, no examinations held by any Royal college, even
in the UK.

Good old MB - and LRCP & S, LRCP,MRCS, LMSSA, LAH Dublin - all
served the purpose well. MD, MChir, the like and the PhD all meant
something and still mean something.

Time was when DPH, MRCOG and FRCS were the only "additional
qualificattions" registered by the GMC.

With a clutch of deaneries incubating good eggs who will hatch in to
good consultants tomorrow, who needs all these examinaions?

Any arguments to the contrary, please?
