Author's Reply

Although in this article I didn't draw attention to the important
work that Alcoholics Anonymous do, there is no doubt that for many people
it is a fantastic resource, as evidenced by the previous response. This
article by its nature, however focussed on an individual's experience,
which involved statutory services. In the supporting text that included
resources available to doctors I chose to focus on the tools that are
available within the consulting room.
