Chronic chilblains

Over 45 years of medical practice it is my opinion that chilblains,
which are much less common than they were, are caused by the rapid heating
of cold feet.

This usually happens when children, and it is usually a child, come
home from play in cold weather and put their feet on a radiator to warm
up. It is the rapid warming that does the damage and a warning to desist
usually solves the problem.
