Mortality from pandemic A/H1N1 2009 influenza in England: public health surveillance study

BMJ 2009; 339 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.b5213 (Published 10 December 2009) Cite this as: BMJ 2009;339:b5213

Deaths attributed to influenza in previous years

While I appreciate that the techniques used to ascertain deaths from
pandemic A/H1N1 are unique to this study, it would be interesting to have
figures for influenza related mortality, using the usual methodology, for
at least 2005-9. Without them, it's impossible to conclude whether this
year's mortality is in any way out of the ordinary.
