Rapid Response:

Alcohol and Sexual Behaviour

Given that alcohol is an hypnotic sedative, which supresses
inibitions and adversly affects judgement, I would have assumed that the
findings by Sangeetha S Sundaram, S Samraj, and Raj Patel, BMJ 2009; 338:
b40, were a foregone conclusion.

In this writer's experience it is unlikely that any counselling of
the type suggest by the authors would only serve the recipients a useful
purpose until they got drunk again.
