Do antibiotics and alcohol mix? The beliefs of genitourinary clinic attendees

The advice to abstain from alcohol whilst taking antibiotics
prescribed by GUM was explained during my student attachment. It is given
in an attempt to reduce the risk of sexual contact before fully treated,
which is increased by the disinhibiting effects of alcohol.
