Rapid Response:

Odds are not certainties.

In 1995 I too suffered a similar episode, only the diagnosis was
Listeria meningo-encephalitis, resulting in almost a week unconscious in
ITU in Switzerland. The discharge summary clearly states, "the patient's
family were informed he was not expected to survive."

It changes your life and I am forever grafeful to those caring for
me, especially my family, who did not give up. I have no residual damage
and each day is a bonus to be welcomed.
