Rapid Response:

"Floccinoccinihilipilification"

We were taught as children that this was the longest word (29
alphabets) in the English language, and was coined by Shakespeare
according to the Oxford Dictionary.
Today the longest word is believed to be
"antidisestablishmentationalism"(30 alphabets).
It was fun reading your comments on the word in the BMJ.
