Syphilis: old problem, new strategy

Rapid Response:

Safe Sex

The emergence of this 'old' forgotten disease as a major health
hazard is very disturbing. If not eradicated, it may in combination with
HIV infection bring another epidemic. The author is fully right in
supporting the advocates of a continued multi disciplinary approach to
this emerging problem. The emphasis on 'safe sex' should be made a regular
part of the curriculum at schools both in the developed and the developing
world.
