In private practice, most of the time we have to compromise on the
quality of health care as most of the patients cannot afford to have the
ideal treatment after a systematic evaluation. In addition, we have to cope
with the increasing number of cases being filed against doctors citing
medical negligence. Unless doctors are trained to critically evaluate
and investigate optimally, spend more time in counselling, let the
patient bear some responsibility in decision making we cannot do justice
to the profession we are in.
