Rapid Response:

Target organ assessment in nurse run clinics

Bearing in mind that the majority of follow up care of hypertensive
patients in general practice is often now done in nurse run clinics, how
is taget organ damage best assessed?

Most nurses would not undertake fundoscopy. Should opticians be
involved.

Is dip stick urine testing and u & e measurement all that is
needed to monitor renal function. What degree of change is significant?

Echocardiography is not readily available. What ECG criteria can be
used and are these accurate enough?
