Rapid Response:

Cigarettes are acceptable?

I do respect Dr Barley's opinion and I have experienced myself an
orthopaedic ward filled with puffers (including pink puffers). Two decades
ago, our professor was very rigid against cigarette smoking in his ward
but us, junior doctors, would smoke and give some logistical support for
those poor people hanging on tractions and unable to go out and buy their
own fags. Too bad we become ex-smokers, get older, wiser (?), and
acknowledgeable about smoking risks. Do you remember when smoking was safe
and parachuting dangerous?
