An international perspective on low-dose aspirin for the primary prevention of myocardial infarction
2023, International Journal of CardiologyA systematic review of statin-induced muscle problems in clinical trials
2014, American Heart JournalCitation Excerpt :Most studies (29/42 or 69%) only reported the number of patients with CK >10 ULN. Creatine kinase values have proven to be the most useful measure of muscle injury with statins; but only 4 trials (9%) reported change in CK with treatment,6,18,32,33 and average CK increased significantly in 3 of these trials.18,32,33 This suggests that statins may produce low-level muscle injury, an observation also made in STOMP.48
