Radiology examinations: regulator calls for targets on reporting after finding delays

The healthcare regulator has called for national standards for the time it should take for patients to receive results from radiology examinations after finding “significant variation” in reporting times across hospitals in England.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) warned of delays to radiography results being shared with clinicians and of x ray films being examined by clinicians without specialist training in its report published on 19 July.1
