Scotland will set minimum price for a unit of alcohol

The Scottish parliament has announced that it will introduce legislation to set a minimum price on alcohol to curb the damage to health from overconsumption.
The Alcohol Minimum Pricing Bill will be presented to the Scottish parliament in the autumn and is guaranteed to be passed into law by the majority Scottish National Party government. A similar move last year was voted down by opposition parties (BMJ 2010;341:c5267, doi:10.1136/bmj.c5267 …
