Medical Capacity Act 2005 should be invoked

A recent report highlights the risks associated with the use of antipsychotic drugs in managing behavioural and psychotic symptoms in dementia.1 We are surprised that it and the government’s response do not refer to the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its associated code of practice.2
