Need for anti-racist action in the NHS

The cabinet secretary for health and social care in Scotland, recognising that racism is a public health issue, published a statement in September 2024 outlining various anti-racism measures, including asking health boards to develop and deliver their own plans.1 This echoes Kar’s statement that the NHS needs anti-racist action, not empty words or virtue signalling.2
