Bravo! A doctor has dared to query the use of NSAIDS in musculoskeletal injuries/damage and points out that reducing the inflammation in healing may be a bad idea.
Anyone who studies the action of prostaglandins should also come to this conclusion. Certainly in my own patients I have noticed a rebound in pain on stopping NSAIDS (by myself), presumably due to inflammatory mediators, followed by a faster rate of healing.
