UK government’s nutrition advisers are paid by world’s largest food companies, BMJ analysis reveals

Rapid Response:

What is the actual industry compensation for the UK's nutrition advisers?

Dear Editor,
It looks like many of the "advisers" declared more than five thousand pounds of compensation. I assume that the declaration form had discrete levels to choose from. What is the next higher level above five thousand pounds? From a public safety and social ethics perspective I'd rather know the "less than amount". Might result in greater outrage and a more rapid and pointed response. Did these conflicted advisers also receive a stipend from the government? With that said, paying advisers who have no conflict of interest a reasonable stipend for their efforts is fair.
Thanks,
Rob
