Should I put my peanuts away?
We often hear announcements on aeroplanes asking us not to eat any nut products on a flight, for the sake of a passenger with allergies. However, it turns out that this precaution may not be necessary.
That’s nuts!
Apparently not. A systematic review commissioned by the UK Civil Aviation Authority1 has found that, in a typical passenger with a food allergy, the risk of having an allergic reaction on a commercial flight is lower than on the ground.
