Dear Editor

We thank Dr Spitzer for highlighting Hamas’ taking children hostage which we consider completely reprehensible. Children everywhere should neither be cannon fodder nor used as pawns in conflicts and the Gaza conflict is particularly egregious. The same is true for Ukrainian children forcefully abducted and taken to Russia which is reflective of how in recent wars all norms and humanity has been lost.
