Whole genome sequencing can help guide cancer care, study reports

Linking routine clinical information with whole genome sequence (WGS) data in patients with cancer could help doctors provide them with more tailored care, a large analysis1 has reported.

The research, published in Nature Medicine, found that linking WGS data to real world clinical data can pinpoint changes in cancer DNA that could help to identify which treatments might work best for a patient based on the type of cancer they have.
