Gaza: Excess deaths could exceed 85 000, researchers predict

If the war against Hamas continues its current path or escalates the number of excess deaths in Gaza will rise to between 58 260 and 74 290 in the months up to 6 August—with traumatic injuries and infectious diseases being the main causes of additional fatalities, according to new independent projections.
