Measures of NHS productivity do not reflect reality, says NHS England chief

NHS productivity is not being accurately measured, underestimating how much work is being done, NHS England’s chief executive officer Amanda Pritchard has said.
Pritchard was asked whether the NHS would be able to meet the “ambitious” 2% increase in productivity target set out in the government’s NHS long term workforce plan by MPs during a Health and Social Care Committee hearing on 14 November.1
