Cognitive behavioural therapy can help to reduce menopause symptoms, including hot flushes and night sweats, depressive symptoms, and problems sleeping, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has said in draft updated guidance.1
Previous NICE guidance on diagnosing and treating menopause, published in 2015, only recommended considering CBT to alleviate low mood or anxiety linked with the menopause.2
