BMA pledges to end sexism in medicine and tackle gender discrimination in healthcare

The BMA is appealing to organisations across the healthcare sector to stamp out sexism in the medical profession.
Among the 10 goal pledge (box 1) is a call for senior doctors to “call out sexism” and be responsible and accountable for tackling their own bias.

Actively challenge gender stereotypes in medicine
Increase the visibility and voices of women
Employees in more senior roles to recognise gender bias in the workplace
