NICE recommends online therapies to treat depression and anxiety in adults

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has conditionally recommended eight digital therapies to treat depression1 and anxiety2 disorders in adults.

Draft guidance proposes rolling out the technologies as treatment options for disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder and body dysmorphia. Each of the digital technologies use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques and can only be delivered with an NHS Talking Therapies practitioner or therapist support, including regular monitoring and management of patient safety and progress.
