Adam Gay Lawrence, former consultant physician in HIV and genitourinary medicine (now called sexual health) has died at the age of 89. His legacy is of major importance to the development of HIV and sexual health services in London and to the current standing and activities of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust. He was in charge of the John Hunter Clinic since its inception in 1979 in the former St Stephen’s Hospital. The clinic was moved to the corner of the site into St Stephen’s Centre in 1988 and continued outpatient activities (along with the Kobler Clinic HIV outpatient and day ward) …
