US life expectancy reaches 25 year low

In 2021 life expectancy in the US fell for the second year in a row to reach 76.4 years, the lowest since 1996, reports from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have said.12 The drop in life expectancy was due primarily to increased numbers of deaths from covid-19 and from drug overdoses.
