In this paper by McManus and colleagues (BMJ 2021;372:m4858, doi:10.1136/bmj.m4858, published 20 January 2021), the authors realised that three subsections of table 1—female sex, deprivation and marital status—have errors due to a duplicate observation in the baseline data of the usual care group. This had the effect of changing the numerator in two places and the denominator in six places.
