Consultant caught by undercover police making plan to abuse girl is struck off

A consultant anaesthetist who was caught in a police sting attempting to procure a 7 year old girl and sexually abuse her has been struck off the UK medical register.

Mark Carrington, 49, was working at the Royal Free Hospital in London in January 2022 when he contacted another user on a fetish website, a man who described himself as a father of two children whom he abused. In fact, the profile was fictitious and the man was a police officer.

“My name is Marcus,” wrote Carrington. “I am a pleasant polite gentle man who is a lover of kink, especially fam situations. I would love to chat.” The undercover officer replied that he was “hands on with my girls and looking to push things” and indicated that he was happy to chat …
