FDA orders Juul to remove all its e-cigarettes from US market

The US Food and Drug Administration has ordered Juul to remove all its e-cigarettes from the US market.1

Juul is one of the world’s biggest e-cigarette manufacturers, with around three quarters of the market in the US. Its popularity with young people has made it a target of US regulators and local authorities.

The ban came a day after the Biden administration announced plans to establish a maximum nicotine level to reduce the addictiveness of cigarettes and other tobacco products.2
