Re: Russian doctors, nurses, and paramedics demand an end to hostilities in Ukraine

Dear Editor,

I am a Russian citizen and a medical resident of neurology currently practicing and living in Italy. Thank you for giving space to the voices of Russian medical personnel calling for immediate cessation of the war conflict in Ukraine, and please let me express my full agreement with this demand.

Every day brings more victims, exponentially increasing the time it will take to heal and to recover from the inflicted losses and pain. I mourn for the irreparable human lives, and as my professional and moral obligation dictates me, I add my voice to the medical chorus demanding the ending of this war immediately so as to prevent any further propagation of pain and suffering.

Sincerely,
Viktoriia Iakovleva
