Falls prevention programmes succeed only by supporting staff long term

In their trial of a programme to prevent falls in older people, Logan and colleagues show that training care home staff with written guidance has a short lived effect.1 A persistent effect can be achieved only by nurturing and sustaining staff over the long term.
