A decision to allow the neurologist at the centre of the biggest patient recall in Northern Ireland to remove himself from the medical register voluntarily is to be challenged in the High Court.
The General Medical Council criticised the decision by a medical practitioners tribunal to let Michael Watt take himself off the register without a hearing, but the regulator has no power to appeal against voluntary erasure.
