A showjumper with a spinal defect is suing her mother’s GP in a landmark case, arguing that if he had given proper advice, she would never have been conceived or born.

Evie Toombes, 20, was born with a defect causing spinal cord tethering. She has limited mobility and is doubly incontinent but has become a prominent showjumper who aims to compete in the Paralympic Games.
