Dear Editor: At the end of the fifth paragraph, Hugh and Becky say GP shortages disproportionately affect more deprived areas, and cite the research of which Becky was a co-author. Subsequent data releases have confirmed that disparity. What is needed is what hasn't been available for 20 years, a mechanism to ensure the equitable distribution of GPs in England. That could be achieved by means of an additional clause in the Health & Care Bill currently before Parliament. John
