Fitness not fatness
Except for bariatric surgery, few interventions achieve long term weight loss in people who are overweight or obese. An article in iScience points out that the health risks incurred by obesity are attenuated, or even eliminated, by moderate and high levels of cardiorespiratory fitness. It argues that it might be better to emphasise the benefits of physical activity and pay less attention to weight loss (iScience doi:10.1016/j.isci.2021.102995).
