Re: A world on the edge of climate disaster

Dear Editor,

Well and succinctly stated. Individuals and organisations who have understood the issue and consequences well can be the motivators and chain creators. The role of governments does matter for encouraging movement and action, providing incentives and disincentives and, finally, regulating distortions and violations.

From a global perspective, the announcements and actions of some countries have seen distinct dichotomy; the direction and pace have been differential between high and low/middle income countries, as well as the visible North/South gaps. Utterances without commitment, and assurances that are hollow can turn the movement into a mirage--further and farther. The climate disaster has to be averted at all costs by a globally overarching apparatus.
