The cause of obesity is multifactorial but GPs can do more

Though the causes and ways to treat obesity are many,1 the medical profession in general, and GPs in particular, can do more to tackle the problem. Adiposity now accounts for more deaths in England and Scotland than smoking among people in middle and old age.2
