Who let the dogs out?
Good question. Arguably you could say it was Prime Minister Boris Johnson when he announced a national lockdown in England in March 2020. While there are no official figures, data from the pet food industry show that in 20191 25% of UK households owned a dog, compared with 33%2 in 2021, with the number of dogs rising from nine million to 12.5 million.
