The NHS has agreed a settlement totalling £13m for a 15 year old boy who sustained severe brain damage from insufficient nutrition in the days after his birth.1
The boy, referred to as OP in court, was born at the Royal Preston Hospital in 2005 by emergency caesarean section. His mother, who had almost no command of English, wanted to breastfeed him.
