Study reveals wide health disparity between different ethnic groups in England

Some people from minority ethnic groups appear to have much poorer health than white people—which can equate to being 20 years older than their actual age—a large observational study has suggested.1

A study published in Lancet Public Health on 28 January found evidence of stark health differences between various ethnicities in England. The findings prompted the authors to call for policy changes to improve ethnic parity for socioeconomic opportunity, service provision, and health outcomes.
