The UK government intends to honour its commitments to pay increases above inflation for NHS workers “despite the challenging economic context (of covid-19).”1 Doctors’ pay will rise by 2.8% in 2020-21—equivalent to £2200-£3000 (€2500-€3400; $3000-$4100) for consultants and GP partners and £1100-£2100 for specialty doctors.
